I have been trying to get back to cycling for a while, but there was always something coming in the way. Today I decided to just go for it.

One of my favorite area to go around Berlin is Frustenwalde. I have been there multiple times, but I always explore something new. Like this time, I wanted to go to Bad Sarrow (~ 10 KM from Frustenwalde) to see how the coffee roastery there is.

The distance to there was 80k, certainly quite a bit uptick from the last time I cycled (45). But the sun was out, the sky was nice, the temps were cold but nice, I decided to give it a try.

Komoot planned route turned out to be a technical gravel. Like cycling on grass gravel. It’s going to hurt tomorrow for sure.

I was craving for coffee for the first 40k, Nothing open on the way, no food. I was super hungry. But a nice restaurant in the beautiful town of Altstadberg was the perfect stop (although expensive!)

By the time I reached Bad Sarrow, I was dying. I had my doppio, didn’t feel a difference in taste (maybe a bit better). The coffee is not specialty but they really have a selection from everywhere. I picked a bag of beans from costa-rica. Going back to frustenwalde was an uphill(!) battle. But 93K later, I was in the train station, waiting for a train back. +8k going home made it a nice 101k!
